What about those that view email marketing as SPAM?
Just like any new technology, our vision of email marketing is very different than what many would define as SPAM. The most important thing is to first define what we believe SPAM is and then describe where we believe email marketing should be.

SPAM is high volume, low cost, broadcast, unsolicited email. It is often offensive and not relevant to the person it is sent to. From a marketing point of view, SPAM is usually text based with no or few images. Opt-in and permission based email improved things and made email marketing more responsible. However, this is currently approaching bulk mail clutter.
